AWS Makes Bedrock AgentCore Harness Generally Available
Managed agent infrastructure can remove orchestration work, but accountability for permissions, outcomes, evaluation, and cost remains with the enterprise.
What happened
AWS announced general availability of the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore harness. The managed abstraction can configure an agent with isolated execution, files, memory, skills, web browsing, tools through Gateway or MCP, model switching, streaming, and CloudWatch tracing without requiring teams to build every orchestration component themselves.
Why it matters for enterprise leaders
Standardized infrastructure can accelerate delivery and improve consistency across teams. It also makes governance templates practical: approved identity patterns, tool scopes, telemetry, budgets, model routes, and deployment gates can be built once and reused. Organizations still need workload-specific evaluations, approval boundaries, data controls, incident response, and clarity about what the agent is authorized to accomplish.
