New EU AI Transparency Rules Apply from August 2026

The European Commission’s AI policy portal states that new transparency rules for AI systems apply in the European Union from August 2, 2026. The broader AI Act framework assigns obligations according to the system, risk, and role of the organization, with separate support such as the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice.
